I purchased this Corvette from my friend in 2024. He had inherited it from his dad the year before. His dad bought it in 1965, drove it for 10 years and parked it in a climate controlled garage where it was stored until his death. In approximately 2022, he started a restoration project which he was unable to complete. The 1975 Texas registration sticker is still in the windshield. I can only vouch for the car since 1965 where it has been in Wichita Falls, Texas. I do not know where it was from 1960-1965.
When he died, he had removed both WCFB carburetors and sent them off to be rebuilt. After his passing, nobody knew where the carburetors were, so I bought the car with the dual quads intake and no carbs.
The car includes a freshly rebuilt the original numbers matching 283 engine, new exhaust, new fuel tank and fuel lines, fuel pump, new Edelbrock intake and four barrel carburetor, new HEI distributor, plugs and plug wires, new battery, new motor and gear box mounts, new headlights, new Coker radial whitewall tires, and a fresh high quality Sateen Silver with Ermine White coves paint job.
Here are the numbers on the car:
VIN: 00867S109607
Engine: 109607 0713CU
Intake: 3739653
Transmission: T10-1B W.G. DIV Q1 Stamp: WD2202
Rear Axle Case: F2903743833 Stamp: AP713 (4.11 Posi Traction)
These codes tell quite a story about the car for those interested.
The car runs great with the Edelbrock and HEI setup. The sale includes the original dual quad intake for those who want to convert it back to original state. Also included is the original dual points distributor, if you enjoy being frustrated. :) I also have a bunch of fuel injection parts that came with the car. I thought it was originally a fuelie, but according to the engine stamp it was dual quads (CU). Not sure why he had the manual and fuel injection parts, that is a mystery.
The hardtop is in great shape. The seats and door panels are custom. It's all in great shape as well. The carpet has been replaced and in good condition. It has the Wonderbar radio, but it doesn't work. I haven't checked into why, when I drive the car I take my Bose speaker paired to my phone.
The windshield wipers and tach are not working.
When I had the car painted, the body guys told me that it had some previous damage on the front passenger area. That would have been before 1975. I took some pictures of that area, but it is really hard to tell anything. The odometer is most likely actual miles at 57,243 but the car is sold as TMU.
This is a really nice car that most guys like me would be proud to have in their garage and also enjoy on the road. I absolutely love going through the gears on this car. It is one of the few joys that I have left. Sometimes I'll just start it up and let it idle for a few minutes just to take in the sound and smell. It is awesome.
I am happy to answer any questions about the car, and hope it finds a great and proud owner.
